The Obama Administration continues to spin the truth about the economy and unemployment.  Regardless of where you stand politically, the reality is that the recession is not over, nor will it be over in the near future and the current administration is doing nothing to reverse the downward spiral.  Obama likes to play the game of illusions.  However, even a magician knows that if you stay before your audience for too long,  they find your secrets.  The magic is no longer fascinating.  The truth about lies is that in order to sustain a lie,  it must have a little speck of truth in it in order to keep spinning it into a new story. 

November 2009  unemployment is at 10.0%  according to the Bureau of labor Statistics.  What was Obama’s response?  “Let’s have a job summit”  Where the brilliant observation was made that the onus of job creation rests with the private sector.  Wow!  Anyone taking a Economics course in college could have come up with that one.   .  Obama can talk all he likes about where he believes jobs should be created.  The reality that he does not want anyone to know is the number of new employee of the United States government.  In January 2009,   the government added 31, 000 new jobs while the private sector continues to struggle.  More Americans are losing jobs, struggling to make ends meet and the President lectures on job creation.  In an odd way, he is telling the private sector to follow the government lead in hiring new personnel.  However,  the small businesses of America do not have a handy money printing machine that they  can just switch on when the money starts to dry up.  Mr. Obama has proven he not only has one of those nifty machines,  he knows how to turn the switch it on and off.  Come to think of it, it’s almost like a teleprompter. 

The nugget of truth in Obama’s statement turns into a lie when his actions reverses the incentives for  small businesses to hire people.  What is the government doing to help the confidence of small businesses to grow?  Nothing.  In fact, they are creating more fear with agendas such as tax and cap,  healthcare reform, and generally trying to spend their way out of a recession.  It is absolute madness, and the American people are starting to see that the man how made the promises of hope and change is quite like the Wizard of  Oz.  If someone pulls back the curtain on the “image” of the President who would be savior, there would stand a human being who isn’t so grand at all. He’s just  someone who wants power and control.  

The illusion of grandeur must continue for Obama to achieve this destructive path that America is taking daily. Each time there are new numbers about the economy,  it will be delivered as “it’s not as bad as we thought” or “the unemployment numbers have gone down, but that’s because people have stopped collecting unemployment and  have given up.”  Sooner or later, the lie can not stand on its own.  Obama will have to come up with something to divert the citizen’s attention to some program or handout that might when back his popularity.  With how his numbers are dropping, it better be really spectacular.   Even Obama may have trouble pulling that off. 

  How long will it be when the proverbial “other shoe” drops and cities start to close down services because property taxes are not being paid?  This economy can no longer be described as a spiral downward.  It would be more accurate to say it is in a free fall.   In all the political commentary, no one has addressed how to stop this administration from the reckless course they are taking.   The only ideas batted about are the elections of 2010 and 2012.  While it is true,  this is a golden opportunity for Republicans to gain seats,  it is more imperative that actions be taken now to stop this nonsense.  When the President of the United States is smug enough to fly over peaceful demonstrators who oppose his healthcare reform  in order to give a speech to admiring fans who accept every word  he says, than it is time to do something immediately.  impeachment is not the answer but finding ways to take away his power is better.  

Time to unplug the teleprompter.  With every lie that President Obama spews, the truth has to come out ten times louder.  Controlling the media and news is crucial. The Mainstream Media has shown to often who they are siding with and what information will be doled out to their audience.  As educated citizens, it is important to remember Regains words, “Trust but verify.”  Read, listen to every point of view, and verify the sources.  It is only then  that being armed with the truth will the lies lose  their effect on Americans.  It also gives the citizens the confidence to fight back and say “NO.” to ridiculous spending, taxes and programs. 

The Internet is a wonderful tool to put the information out into the hands of average citizens.  The real test of getting information out is the use of other media, such as television, radio and print.  Isn’t it amazing that conservative books are selling like hot cakes now?  How about Fox News?   It really is not a big surprise that their ratings top all the other cable news shows.  The phenomenon of talk radio began in the 80’s when everyone thought it was a stupid venture.  Why does congress want to shut the airwaves down with the Fairness Doctrine?  Truth is the antidote to the cancer of lies.   

It’s time to take up the mighty pen to stab out the monster of economic mess that Americans are experiencing.  While it is true, not everyone can have a best selling book, do a news show or talk on the radio.  However, writing to Representatives and Senators is a start in being heard.  Talk to neighbors, family members or anyone who wants to engage in meaningful debate.  It is in the arena of ideas that problems are faced and  sometimes fixed.  The shame of being conservative should be over and should anyone need a course on how to be openly conservative,  listen to Hannity, Beck, Levin and Limbaugh.  

It’s also  time to teach Democrats that citizens don’t need  the government to rescue them.  However,  it is the government that will need citizens to come to the rescue to save the country.  First mission,  stop the spending.  Second mission, stimulate the economy the right way.  Third mission,  elect  people who are worthy of the voters trust.  Anyone game? 

From hope and change to heartache and chaos.  That is what Americans are witnessing now with the Obama administration.  There is no doubt that Obama is looking to put positive spins on the economic outlook.  Recent data shows that the stimulus plan is not working,  Cap and Trade will raises taxes and strip away more freedom,  healthcare is more akin to death care and the jobless rate is soaring past 10 percent in sixteen states.  How long will it be before the other thirty-four states see those same numbers. Vice-President Biden can gloat all he wants about how well the economy is, but when he asked his audience  at J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College in Henrico to look around and see the progress of the stimulus package and the economy.   It is just too pathetic to see this man promote this propaganda.  The media did nothing to test him on his statements.   Mr. Vice-President, just a week or two ago, you comment that your Administration had underestimated how bad the economy was, yet know everything is rosy.  What has changed?  How could Obama believe that that the resident big mouth should go out to pump the economy, when everyone in America sees him as a goof ball.  

Sticking to the policies that the Obama administration is so sure that America’s needs,  let’s ask why everything has to be done right now?  What is the hurry?  Unfortunately for the President, many voters are starting to wake up and smell the coffee.  Obama and his minions either don’t have a clue what they are doing or they know what they wanted to accomplish, but they didn’t count on people to be smart enough to pay attention. As odd as this may seem to say,  we should hope it is the second scenario not the first.  If it is the first scenario, then the country is really doomed due to incompetence.  As comedian Ron White would say “You can’t fix stupid.”  It is astounding to say the least, that a the moment when our country is going through a financial crisis, this Administration seeks for ways to spend more money.  All of his policies add to the overwhelming debt.  However, if it is the second scenario, then there is hope for the American people to turn things around. The Administration may be willing to kill off the American dream to gain socialism but they didn't count on so many Americans to stand up against radical changes in our country.  The voice of  the American people has always been more powerful than the politicians.  The voices for freedom has always been more powerful than any government. 

The important battle right now is healthcare and it  is far from over.  Obama has gambled his presidency on this issue.   The spin out there is Obama is not doing this for him,  he is doing it for the American people.  Right! Explain why   polls are starting to show that 49% are opposed to his ideas and 45% approve.  That is math that can not be ignored. The average citizen understands that Healthcare is all about Obama.  Pelosi and gang will have much to do to turn things around.  It is not an impossible task, unless the American citizens block the Democrats efforts. 

Which leads to the all important question,  do Americans need healthcare reform?  According to the President Americans not only need it but are looking for leadership on the issue.  Leadership does not mean taking a problem and turning it on its ear.  When a car needs to be fixed,  is it practical to take it  apart to make a totally different car?  This is exactly what the Democrat Leadership wants to do and yet it is not necessary to go this far when fixing healthcare.  The main concern for healthcare is how to lower costs and still provide the best care possible to patients. Keeping in mind the dignity of the human being.  The best solutions to this problem will not come out of Washington.  It can and should come from the industry.  Doctors, pharmacists, nurses and insurers can all wrk together to find the solutions that will bring costs down.  At this point, it doesn’t seem as though the Obama administration wants to hear from the Healthcare industry or the voters.  Maybe now that they have extended the deadline of when healthcare will be passed, their ears will be open.  For America’s sake, let’s hope so. 

The collective thought of America today should be,  2010 is too late to strike and win back the country.  That is not the case.  Too  many of our fellow Americans have drank the Kool-aid that is laced with poisonous venom from Obama;'s camp.  In the past 100 days or so,  President Obama and his minions have set in motion the quickest switch to a socialist government ever imaginable.  Not one person on Election Night 2008 would have ever believed that this man would work as quickly, and without opposition.  There is a  need for strong leaders who will stand up for conservative principals,   and from the perspectives of many political observers, these leaders  have left Washington.  So the same old game plan is being used by Republicans, let's find the center and run with it.  How about this for an idea?  Let's find a backbone and run with that!  True conservative principals never die and never lose.  In the meantime,  the taxpayers by the executive Order of Obama, will make sacrifices to ensure for the next generation some glimmer of  hope. Maybe.  Is the man hypocritical or incompetent in leading this country.  Sadly, he is both and then he is not.  He is, as  Pravda would boast of their leaders in Russia, the best Marxist that ever lived.  Obama is not Russian, but he is a very good student of Socialism, Communism and Marxism.  He is building a movement bigger than the other three ideology combined and  enjoying the ride.   It is time to impeach the man for not only being incompetent, but also for treason.  No politician in their right  mind would set this economic disaster in motion without first thinking: How can I destroy America and make it work to my advantage?  Obama, Yes he can! 

It's been one week since Obama became the 44th President of the United States.  Recapping the week on a personal level,  taxes still have to be paid, still have to pay the mortgage and still putting  gas into the tank.  Was there a line to go to in order for the President to fix all these problems?  Oh, well.  guess it will be better for me  to take care  of the details at home then to let Washington worry about them.  After all the President has better things to do.  Like......

Obama is proving that he is a liberal.  A true hard core liberal who sees that the only way to keep the economy going forward is  spending money and creating new positions and departments which will mean spending even more money.  Earlier this week,  he announced that Nancy Killefer will be his administration's chief performance officer, creating a new White House position with the intent to  eliminate government waste and improving efficiency.   Just what America needs right now, another watchdog on the taxpayers dime  to create a bigger government.  This position makes no sense at all.  What are her duties?  What power does she have in stopping waste?  Who will report to her?  Who will she report to?   How does Peter Orszag, nominee for the Office of Management and Budget,  fit into the picture The President-Elect, as we are finding out on a day to day basis, does not like to reveal details.  The masses are just to go along with his decrees and not question them.  Ever. 

In an economy that is the weakest it has ever been in decades, and the new administration constant reminder that things are not going to get better,  it is irresponsible to be finding new ways of spending money.  Obama seems to realize this when at the announcement of Peter Orszag for the OMB he stated,  “We are going to go through our federal budget, as I promised during the campaign, page by page, line by line, eliminating those programs we don't need and insisting that those that we do need operate in a sensible, cost-effective way.”  On the one hand Obama wants a stimulus package that will cost $700 billion. However, in the next speech he gives he talks about cutting the budget. Huh?  It is amazing that the media is not noticing President-elect’s split personality.  Then again,  this is the same media that is so enamored with the Preseindent’s pecs.  President-Elect Obama is trying to have it both ways, with cutting and spending.  However, any basic economic lesson will stress that there is a time for spending and a time for cutting.  Mr. President-elect, now is the time for cutting. 

The fiscal year 2009 is not starting out very well .  It doesn't help that the 111th Congress is very left leaning and the President-elect even more so. Putting that aside,  it is time to shed some light on the economic fallacies that are surfacing as the answers to the economic woes. First and foremost, bailouts don’t work  Giving money without conditions or accountability is beyond stupidity.  It’s financial suicide.  Also, you can't successfully bail out a business when  your own situation is shaky at  best. Secondly,  the government has to let some issues, such as education, transportation, and medicare, be handled at the state level. Property, gas and state taxes should be sufficient to fund these programs without federal aid.  Local officials and voters should decide how the money should be spent.   Third, stop redefining tax cuts.  A tax cut is when the government  collects less revenue, which allows the taxpayer to keep more of  their hard earned money.   This causes taxpayers to have confidence in their ability to pay their bills, spend money and even give to charities.  A tax cut is not a government check for every citizen, even those who don’t pay taxes.  That is called welfare and the redistribution of wealth.  This has never worked anywhere.  In the places they have tried it,  people have fled the country or stayed because they could see no other way out of their situation.  Unfortunately, this is the only campaign promise that President-elect Obama intends to keep.   On a final note,  businesses, whether they are big or small, are not the evil and corrupt institutions as the liberal elite and media portrays. They are the engine that keeps the economy going strong.  At this moment,  they are struggling for  their life because of  an abundance of regulations, taxes and trade laws that are stifling their growth.  Supporting businesses  by relaxing regulations, tax cuts and striving for global trade that benefits American companies, are logical steps to improving the economy. They are also less costly ways of trying to fix the current crisis. 

The  economic fallacies will not disappear under President Obama’s watch. With every socialist idea, creation of  government positions and programs that  adds to government spending,  the economy will spiral further out of control. If our new President is serious about improving the economy for the long term,  he’s got to keep his promise that was made on November 25, 2008... “ eliminating those programs we don't need and insisting that those that we do need operate in a sensible, cost-effective way.”  Now that is the hope and change that is needed in Washington or Mr. President,  were they just words?
