100 Days and counting

The media is going nuts over Obama,  that isn't new, however,  they are looking at this first 100 days in office as if this is there is nothing more that this President needs to accomplish.  Yes, in 100 days the man has been able to tackle all the topics of the day, called in the CEOs from every sector of the economy to lecture then on the greatness of HIS plan and how they must kowtow to him.   He has conferences and break out sessions that produced nothing but more hot air.    Obama has apologized profusely for all the ills that America has done and asked leaders around the world to not blame him for events such as the Bay of Pigs because he was only three years old back then.   Wait folks, that's not all.  In a way that only Obama knows how, he has endorsed the killings of innocents around the world but pledging tax payers dollars to fund abortions,  he has spent more in 100 days than any of his predecessors,  he has made us weaker by revealing national secrets and he has made it a personal vendetta to discredit anything the Bush Administration accomplished.   Whew!  Who knew  that so much could be done in such little time?  This is the moment that all liberals have been dreaming about.  The moment when America ceases to be the land of the free and  the home of the brave to the land of the forlorn and home of the beaten.
Now that the 100 days mark has passed, should the taxpayers dare to ask "What's next?" What should happen next and what will happen are two different realities.  Republicans in Washington need to get a backbone and oppose legislations which stands in the way of personal freedom,  raising taxes and national security.  With Obama's approval rating very high, most Republicans are afraid to buck a popular president.  After all,  2010 is just around he corner, and some of them have campaigns that they need to win. Looking at the polls more closely, it is clear to see that while people like Obama as a person,  his policies do not sit well with most voters. The fact remains that his approval rating is at 68-70%.    If one dares to look back at Bush's first 100 days in office they w ill find  that he Democrats were bold enough to knock down the President even when his approval ratings were good.  As a matter of fact,  Democrats will cut their opponents down to size in good times and in bad.  If Obama's policies are bad for our country then it should be pointed out to the American people without fear of retaliation.  The retaliation is what some Republicans fear and would like to avoid.  Liberals win again.  Freedom of speech is always the first to go.
What will happen next is unfortunate.  Obama and his administration are busy contriving ways of blocking Republican votes on national health care, silencing conservative talk shows and seizing opportunities to gain government ownership of the private sector.  The only transparency of this Administration is that they want it all and they want it now. All of these movements are not baby steps, they are giant leaps into weakening of  the economy,  rights of citizens and free-market system.  Making the argument that these ideals have never worked, is an argument that the left will not engage in because in their view it has worked and will work here. Regardless that the evidence reveals the failures of the left's ideals. If the Republicans will not stand up against the tide of socialism, who will?   The Republican party is desperate for a leader and that person is no where to be found.  The First 100 days is just an appetizers to what will be coming in the next four years.  More government, more taxes and  more of the same liberal lies.

Just say NO!

At the time of writing this blog, the euphoria of the Republican's stand against Obama and the Democrat leaders is starting to wane, just  a little.  It is amazing that all the House Republicans and eleven Democrats voted against this bill.  This  inspires hope for the change America REALLY needs.  Congratulations to the Congressmen and women who voted against this overloaded pork bill.   It is now time to help the Republican Senators, and some Democrats too, to  buck the system and vote against this bill as well.   Just say no to spending that will spiral out of control.  Just say no to Obama for coming up with a plan that will bankrupt America, thus making it in essence the largest third world country.  Just say no to Pelosi, who can't explain how 335 million dollars for STD education is going to help the economy.  (Who can blame her?  No one could explain that one.) Just say no to Reid when he tries to ram a "different, yet the same" version of this bill because in his own words, "Stimulus is in the eye of the beholder, O.K?”
The change that Americans really need is Obama, Pelosi and Reid to get out of the way of true progress. Between the three of them and  the rest of the administration, not one of them have learned anything about economics 101.  Rule number one,  if you don't have money, you can't spend it.  Rule number two,  budget for the  essential items and save for the nonessentials items.  Rule number three,  printing more money does nothing but lower the value of the dollar and inflation goes through the roof.  Rule number four,  see Rule number one through three.  What is  keeping this economy from thriving are  high taxes.   Michigan is a prime example of what happens when taxes are too much and too high.  The population moves.  Businesses relocate.  Unemployment lines get longer.
It is up to the American voters to call their  Senators, whether they are Republicans or Democrats, to encourage them to just say no to this awful spending spree that is labeled stimulus.   Demand to know the truth of what is in the bill.  Demand that Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi explain themselves why spending is so important right now.  Remind Obama that he promised a transparent administration not smoke and mirrors.  Let's ride the momentum that the House provided and derail this bill once and for all.  Every battle is important is this war against spending.  Obama may have won the Presidency but the American people have won their voices back.

It's been one week...

It's been one week since Obama became the 44th President of the United States.  Recapping the week on a personal level,  taxes still have to be paid, still have to pay the mortgage and still putting  gas into the tank.  Was there a line to go to in order for the President to fix all these problems?  Oh, well.  guess it will be better for me  to take care  of the details at home then to let Washington worry about them.  After all the President has better things to do.  Like......

Go on Arab television and sell out the United States with apologies.

Freeing the detainees at Gitmo.  Anyone want to adopt a terrorist?  It's a new program sponsored by Obama  to help these unwanted terrorists find a place to call home and feel loved.   Murtha is willing to take them in Pennsylvania. It causes one to wonder if he will invite them to dinner at his house.

Find more ways to damage the Auto Industry.   As if Michigan didn't have more to worry about.

Fix a problem that does not exist.  Global Warming.  Pardon the mistake,  it is Climate change now.

Present to the media a moderate image and yet, tell the  Republicans not to list to Rush because, in his own words, "I won."

Last but certainly not least,  instead of signing legislation that would begin spending on abortions over seas on  the Anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, he signed it a day later.  How nobel.

Whew,  it's amazing what can be done in a week.   President Obama has essentially put America in greater danger than we have been in eight years,  is on the path to wrecking industry and the private sector,  tried to censor free speech and use tax payers dollars to abort innocents.  His only regret must be is that his stimulus package has not gone through YET.  If the Republicans in the Senate and Congress get a chance to ask one question before signing on to this spending spree,  it should be, "When America fails, and it is too big to fail,  who is going to bailout America?"    The answer to this question should keep every conservative awake at night.

An Ode to our future

What can be said about this year 2008?
It seems that the Democrats now have the fate,
of this great nation, they now have command.
What will happen in the year 2009?
A new president who is destined to sign,
Countless socialist laws, banning freedoms across the land.
What can be hoped for in the next four years?
The Messiah tells us misery and tears.
His action, the nation will not understand.
What should we do until 2010?
Pray that the Republicans will be strong again
Speak up for what is true,  and taking a stand.
What could happen in 2012?
That Obama's reign is  for the history shelve,
Marking the time when America was not so grand.
What can be said if it is eight years not four?
Then the land of opportunity is no more.
Voices of freedom will be silenced, he will demand
What causes this vision of gloom and doom?
Big Brother's control from the womb to the tomb.
With the elite at the dance, taxpayers paying the band.

He must be stopped!

After listening to the cabinet positions being filled,  there is a sigh of relief from many who feared that President-Elect Obama would fill these posts with William Ayers,  or Jeremiah Wright, or heavens forbid the likes of Farrakhan.  Let's be serious did we really think that this sleeker-than-Clinton candidate would do something that stupid?  It's all about appearances and he plans on making things look normal.  Nothing out of the ordinary but just enough to have people think he is someone who can work with this enemies.  Yeah,  right.
After this President-elect has filled out his cabinet.  Let's look at what the man intends to do for his first two years in office.  What he has planned is far more dangerous than his cabinet posts.  He has indicated that he is going to create 2 million government jobs to fix our schools, roads, energy, broadband and electronic medical information retrieval.  Wonderful.  How does he propose to pay all these new employees to the government? Spread the wealth?  The government has no money to spread the wealth, or they are looking to the taxpayers to send in their checks to the IRS.
It is important to tackle the problem of education here first.  As an educator I know how the government has ALREADY tried to fix the problem of internet in the schools and libraries.  It's called E-Rate.  It is a nifty little program that reimburses schools and libraries for their Internet usage.  Urban schools get a bigger kick back than those schools that are private or in suburbs.  Barack wants to make sure every school and library in America has the internet and computer.  Guess what, they already have them!  Could schools use new computers, new software and better equipment.  Sure they do.  However the last time I checked, the money going to schools came from the property owners who pay for the school districts.  This is something to be taken care of on a local level,  not on the national level.  We have already seen  failures in the No Child Left Behind program.  This solution will be just a waste of money like the previous programs.
Yes, we want children to succeed in schools but throwing computers at them is not going to make them smarter than the students in other countries.  What we need are teachers who are dedicated to teaching the basics of math, science and english.  (There are many out there who are very dedicated, but there are others who are willing to take a day off of work, close down the schools just to go to their state capital to protest a new charter school because they are afraid of losing their jobs.  Detroit teachers, does  this ring a bell? )  It is sad that the verbal skills and math skills are declining in our schools because of the liberal influences that have taken desire to achieve out of the classrooms.  Too  many educators would much rather give a passing grade  than to have the child be accountable for doing their homework and becoming the best that they can be.  There is so much potential for the children, but it is not Barack Obama's job to fix it --- he must be stopped.
Hospitals are well equipped in medical technology and computers.  The idea of the medical electronic record becoming available has the ear marks of Big Brother.  If it isn't scary enough that the men and women in congress who can't  control spending to save their lives,  they claim they want to save our lives with socialized medicine.  With this government controlled medical records electronic system, who is going to be in control of this sensitive information.  My Congressman?  My Senator?  No thank you.  Medical information should be shared between a patient and their doctor.  No one else.  There is no amount of reassurances from the government that could ease the fears that personal medical information would not be used against the patient.  For example,  a patient goes to the hospital for emergency care.  The doctors look up the medical records to see what medications they are taking, what chronic conditions they have and recent surgeries.  They find out that John Doe has had three heart attacks, is over weight and has diabetes.  Do they continue care with this patient, or do they call the local government office to see if they can proceed with treatment.  Who decides if he gets the treatment? Or  do they fine poor John Doe for being obese and being a drag on the system? Wait, you say.  We are not talking about taking away patient's rights with the electronic medical records.  Care to make a bet on that?  This is just one more slide towards socialized medicine and big brother watching.  By the way,  it seems that the Hospitals now are so well equipped with technologies that we didn't have twenty years ago.  The thought that they can not get the needed information on a patient seems preposterous.  The government should not be involved in healthcare -- he must be stopped!
Energy is a good topic.  How about drilling off shore?  How about letting the Oil companies go to Alaska to drill for more oil? Why can't we be an oil independent country?  Answer:  Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reed and Barack Obama do not want us to be energy independent.  Barack proposes to have the American's infrastructure be energy efficient.   Which means green energy.  The  way to bring costs higher to do what oil has done cheaply for many years.   It has already been proven that Wind mills, solar energy and other green practices don't work efficiently.  Why?  It's not always windy, it's not always sunny and the use of these raw resources are not as effectively accessible as oil.  Contrary to popular beliefs, we are not running out of oil.  There are plenty of resources to go obtain oil.   Let's say for the sake of argument that  indeed we are running out of oil, and we need alternative energy.  Okay,  answer the question of why Congress has been opposed to Nuclear power, like France?    If as a nation we are going to explore life without oil, wouldn't it be better for the private sector to investigate, create and package the product to consumers?  Why would the government want to waste money on an area that they know nothing about?  Energy independence should be our Government's goal, but not it's job.  It's job is to give incentives to businesses to find a way to make this happen.  Barack Obama must be stopped.
The only area left are the bridges and roads.  Again, this is a issue for the local government, not the Federal government.  The roads and bridges that are in disrepair all happen to be in states run by Democrats.  Before anyone gets into a fit,  check out who the Governors were for Minnesota and New Orleans, just to pick a few recent disaster areas.   It never fails that the corruptive Governments are the one who are responsible for innocent lives being lost.  State governments are responsible for funds to keep the roads and bridges safe for its citizens.  If they are unable to do this, then  the citizen's of that state should demand that their officials do something or get out to of the way for someone who will get the job done right.  The Federal government should not be taking care of every crisis that the states encounter.  Back to the idea that this will create or save 2 million jobs, it won't.  The roads and bridges do not provide jobs unless,  everyone who does not have a job goes to work on the roads as a government worker.  Well, I guess that's better than flipping burgers, but not a whole lot more.  Not everyone is cut out for construction.  Perhaps, Obama has a plan for that too, but it is too scary to ask what that is since his "New Deal" will leave everyone poorer. How can such a blanket statement be made?  Easy.   Anyway you look at it, the only way to implement his grand "New Deal",  is to raise taxes.  This automatically leads to thinner wallets.  Before this happens, he must be STOPPED.
If the Republicans in the Senate and Congress learned anything from this election, it should be this:  We the people want a government who represents US.  We want lower taxes, smaller government and security.  Our soon to be President has detailed what he plans to do,  we must fight back and tell him NO.  He must be stopped.
