Looking at the polls, it seems that American voters are not so thrilled with the liberals these days. Perhaps it is because the hope and change they were hoping for did not come to fruition. It hasn't even been planted so to speak. What are the Members of Congress going to do? Will they look at the poll numbers diving and think that their course of actions should be put into reverse? Will they steam roll ahead, don't look back and laugh at their constituents? The current trend seems to be the latter scenario. It use to be common thought that liberals always looked to the polls to decide which way the wind is blowing. That is just a simple assessment. One must be willing to look deeper to get the real answers.
The brilliancy of Obama's campaign was that he was able to be all things to all people. He hardly ever nailed down an opinion in National security, healthcare, global warming or the economy. When he did slip up, it was a round the clock effort from his campaign head quarters to spin it in positive way or completely ignore the goof. His continual attack on McCain was that he was Bush II and Obama was change. Well, golly anyone with half a brain knew that. Of course Obama was nothing like Bush but again, there was no way of knowing who he was because he was more teflon than Clinton. Give credit where credit is due. Clinton came up with the blue print of how to avoid nasty political scandals. Obama took the blue print and expanded upon it. Come up with cute, clever slogans that stick in the mind. Then allow your "followers" to fill in the blank on what you are all about. It is risky for sure but with the combination of flowery rhetoric and feel good slogans, nothing will harm you. Don't worry, be happy. Obama is here.
Now that Obama is here, and the Democrats dreams have been realized because they are in full control of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches. They almost seem like giddy high school kids who have just been told Mom and Pops are going away on a trip and the house is all theirs! Hurry this is there chance to get all the things they ever wanted. Max the credit cards up. Have wild parties with all their friends. Ignore the phone calls from concerned neighbors and relatives who are wondering what the heck is going on over there. They will have their way until someone who is responsible comes along to spoil their fun. Unfortunately, the American taxpayers are footing the bill for this hog wild party and the responsible person to stop this in no where to be found. Back to the idea that Democrats are driven by polls. That is only true in certain cases.
Democrats love to say that they are the party of the people. The regular Joe down the block who works in the factory for the big guy and never gets a chance for a better life. The old Democrats really were for the regular guy. Sadly, power corrupts and the beginning of the corruption of the Democrats began with FDR. Yes, the first holy man ever to hold office. When a man is in power for as long as FDR was, there is no way to escape the taste of power. As leader of the free world for almost 4 terms, he set about to change America to fit his agenda. Social Security was the perfect way to begin enslaving the masses to government dependency. Why do you think every Democrat bows to the image and name of FDR? Since that moment in history, Democrats have continued the mantra we will give our constituents everything they need. From the womb to the tomb, government will be there for you. The polls become important to them when they are trying to get elected. Interpret the data, tell the folks what they want to hear and once in office do whatever you want. Ask any of the Blue Dog Democrats who pretended to put up a fight against the healthcare reform and thus gave in. Oh yes, they are fiscally conservative, but as they ring their hands in angst, they found that the best they could do is to strike a deal. Please Madame Speaker, allow me to dissent from this vote so that the people at home won't be mad at me. What a way to stick up for the little guy.
Polls don't matter to the Democrats when they have full control. Just like the teen left at home, Mom and Dad's wishes don't mean a thing when they have no one looking over their shoulders telling them what to do. It is the cynical view that what American taxpayers want is not important to the current administration. If it were, we would not be hearing about Tea Parties, Town halls gone wild or poll numbers dropping ever so slightly. The opposite would be true. Hold on tight, it's going to be a bumpy ride until November 2010, Again, with cynical views of current events, one has to wonder if Americans will survive until that time. The will of the American voters are being ignored and this country is being divided into two.
So the smooth talking candidate is still pushing his agenda. Encouraging his party to stand up against the opposition, Dismissing any chance for real debate, valid questions and honest answers. After all they have all the answers and they do not want anyone to be in the room who disagree. They do not want to talk to the people. They want to tell the people this is what we are doing, this is what you will like and this is what you will take. The changes in taxes, healthcare, and freedom of speech in a short amount of time is quite amazing. It took FDR a few terms to dupe Americans into the Social Security scam. Obama has duped Americans in the first 100 days of his presidency and promises more to come. American families will have less and are being told to be happy, to have no worries. Obama and company are all about hope. All about change. All about their own hope of changing America into a country that is under their complete power. America's hope is fading. America's change is fatal.
