Nine Months Makes A Whole World Of Difference

It's close to  nine months since Obama has taken office, and what a difference it has been since the Bush years.  They are so complete opposite that it seems like black and white, or night and day.  Unfortunately,  it would be considered racist to say black and white, perhaps even night and day is racist.  Who knows?  The rules for what is the wrong thing to say and do are ever changing with the liberals.   Let's face it, before the election it was considered a crime to mention Barry's middle name.  Now, school children are sing his praises:  Mm Mm Mm,  Barack Hussein Obama.  Catchy tune, huh?   Here is a count down of nine important ways that America has drastically changed since the election of Obama.  In light of recent trends that this column does not want to appear racist,  it is similar to comparing the differences between cats and dogs.
First major change since Obama and his cronies took over is that the rhetoric in Washington is driving the country apart.  Never mind the fact that during the campaign,  the Obama camp stated on a daily basis that he is a uniter.  That their candidate would be the one to be able to cross the isle and get things done.   How would the man who consistently voted liberal on issue after issue going to be a uniter?   Easy.  They were counting on the fact that his loyal fans would not look at his record and take it  on faith that this man was a moderate.  It worked.  Most people who voted for Obama didn't even know that his running mate was Joe Biden.   So how were these people going to know that Obama was either "not present" or voted liberally when he was a Senator for Illinois?
Secondly,  the office of the Presidency has been abused to boost the newly elected candidate's ego.  It is a disgrace that this man yucks it up on late night talk shows, while the country is literally falling apart.  The jobless rate is higher than it has been in twenty years,  bailout after bailout has not helped the industries get back on their feet and taxes are climbing higher.  Not to mention the fact that there is a war going on in Afghanistan,  Iran has been working on nuclear weapons,  and the UN is a forum for nut cases around the world to discuss their discomfort of long travel and Israel has got to be taken off the face of the earth.  Should the list continue?  No, for if the list were to continue it would be too depressing.  Mr. Obama has taken the office of the Presidency to a new low.  He's at rock star status and loves it!  Would it be too much for the American people to ask for  president who knows his place and to do his job?  There are already tons of rock stars and movie starlets that there is no need for one to be living in the White House.
Third,  there were questions about ACORN before the election.  Now there are even more disturbing news of how deep the corruption runs.  The ties between the President and ACORN  can not be overlooked.  They are too tight.  If ACORN is involved in tax fraud, voter fraud,  and other questionable activities, wouldn't it be obvious to the then  candidate Obama that perhaps it is time to let go of the group because of the damage it may cost?   To be honest,  Barack probably didn't think he would get caught up in a scandal because the media has done a swell job in covering for him over the past two years.  Why break ties when there is a good chance that you won't be called on it?   There is no denying that Obama had to have known of all the corruption.  He was a lawyer for the group before going to the Senate. As a lawyer, he would be privy to the operation and practices of the organization.  How else could he defend them in court?  What is interesting to see is that the President has not come out himself to denounce the organization for  it's behavior.
Fourth,  speaking of children and singing.   How many songs have there been made of Lincoln,  JFK or Bush?  Two?  One?
How about, ZERO.  To contrast that to Obama,  the man has at least two songs written about and for him.  Where are these kids learning these new songs:  the schools.  The double standard that is here is astonishing.   Public schools will not allow children to pray to God or mention him, yet they can extol the virtues and wonders of our President.  What are these school districts thinking?  That this is a political payback to the man who asked for their help to get elected.  Parents should be outraged over this practice and demand that the children be taught math, science and english.  Politics has no place in the schools.
Fifth,  National Day of Prayer has been overlooked this year.  Interesting that the same person who does not attend or give lip service to this annual event will make a public statement about the celebration of Ramadan.  For those who don't know,  this is a Muslim observance where the faithful pray, become closer to God and practice self-control.  The purpose for this statement was what exactly?  To give credibility to Obama's statement that America is a Muslim and Christian country?  To pacify the Muslims so that they see that America is "accepting" of their ways?  Could it be that Obama is a Muslim himself?   Looking back over the year, it does seem obvious that Barack was telling America exactly who he is .  He is not a religious person, either in Christianity or Muslim.  He belongs to the religion of what is the best for him,  If it helps his cause, he will pretend to be a Christian, a muslim or an atheist if need be.  Which ever way the winds blow, that is what he will become.
Number six of how things  have changed so radically is that Barack seems to hate America.  The  only President to travel the world to apologize for America's "mistake".  There can be only reason why a man who hates America would run for the highest office in the land:  to make America  pay for the transgressions of the past.  Even as a candidate it seemed that Obama had a chip on his shoulder.  As if he were carrying  anger or a grudge for far too long.  Why else would the man stay in the Rev. Wright's church for twenty years?  He believes that the black man has suffered injustice at the hands of our Country.   As a side note, so does his wife.  If there is need of proof for this hypothesis, look no further than the Crowley/Gates incident earlier this  year.  White cop, black citizen, who happens to be friends with the Presdient, and the guilty one of the two is he white cop, in Obama's eyes.
Coming closer to the end,  number seven is dedicated to how the world now loves America and worships from afar. NOT!
When Chavez comes to the UN to praise his pal Barack,  there is something wrong.  When Gadhafi comes to the podium and exclaims that Obama is his "son",  it is time for a reexamination.  When Iran's Ahmadinejad gives his support to the current administration,  a hard look at oneself is way over due.  Liberals love to point out that America needs to be accepted all around the world.  Respect is much better than being liked or accepted.  It is highly doubtful that at this point that Obama has earned any "love" from the other countries.  In fact, it would be accurate to say that he is thought of as naive and inexperienced.  That's comforting to know when the world seems to be in deeper turmoil,  our President can be manipulated by the other leaders of the world.
What is a war crime?  Obviously it is an action that should be tried in the American legal system, in order to grant those who have committed or intended to commit an act of violence against the United States the same rights as United States citizens.  Obama sees things with the spectrum of trial lawyer's lenses.  With the way the prisoners of war are treated in America, it is no wonder that more men and women would do whatever it took to get the US attention and get caught in order that they could live in comfort.  The meals at Gitmo were good,  the treatment is decent compared to other countries techniques.  With a little luck,  some prisoners might get a good enough lawyer who will advocate that if the US feels that it is too dangerous for their clients to come to the States, another location should be sought. For example, a paradise resort where the prisoners can play  in the surf and sun.   This is why there were and are more radicals who are seeking to plot out another 9/11 attack in America.  They are not afraid of the consequences.  This is he eighth way America is different.
Finally,  the ninth difference is that Americans are more fed up then ever before.  This is the only silver lining of the past nine months.  From cap and trade, to healthcare reform to date night with the wife in New York,  All the little things are starting to add up to changes that Americans don't want.  Electricity bills do not need to go higher, they need to go lower.  Obama's plan raise the rates to save the environment.    Who cares about the workers who can't find jobs! It would be better if they just sat in the dark anyways.  Health care is a problem but it is not a disaster.  With Obama,  he is making it into a disaster to prove how bad it can become.  American's response is to keep government out of our lives.  What is truly remarkable is that Obama and his minions don't care what the voters want,  they will get government healthcare if it is accepted or not.  For date night with the wife,  well as sweet as it may seem,  it could have been done in Washington D.C.   The President should set the example for he rest of the country.  If we are all to have some "skin" in the game it would make sense that the President would save money by staying home and save the environment by not using so much fuel for the jet.   Obama's actions are in line with do as I say not as I do.  For an honorable man, actions must mirror his words.  That is the crystal clear  difference in this administration.  Honor and morality have left Washington. With a little hard work on the part of citizens across the United States, it may return again.  Hopefully it will be before it  is too late.

Growing Up In America

It was much simpler back when I was a kid.  Perhaps, all adults feel that way.  Now that Obama has begun his campaign on changing America, to suit his image, maybe a reminder about what is at stake is appropriate.   The country is changing so quickly that at times it seems that if I blink my eyes,  America will disappear.  Fourth of July is coming up and it breaks my heart to see the shape America is in.
To paraphrase a line from Mrs. First Lady,  for the first time in my life,  I'm ashamed of America and afraid of my government.  I've seen the bumper stickers for years,  I love my country, but fear my government.  I understood how powerful a government could become but never thought it would happen here.  We are the country that proved that citizens could speak up against their government and demand accountability without destroying the system.  The Press has always been the champions of the common folk with their words of neutrality which demanded that our government listen to the voices of the people first.  Yet,  here it is 2009 and I wonder how much longer will I be able to have freedom of speech and thought.  How long will it be before someone comes to my door, takes my computer and takes away my voice?  Will the media have the courage to acknowledge that if the voice of the people are silenced, their voices will be silenced? I pray that will never happen.  It is the cornerstone of our Republic.
Watergate broke when I was in fourth grade.  President Nixon taught me one very important lesson:  Presidents are not perfect. What was Nixon's crime?  It was not clear to me as a child.  As an adult, I look back, scratch my head and think,  he left office because he agreed to cover-up a break in at Watergate. Nixon's closest advisors were indicted and convicted of list of crimes, including wiretapping, and lying to the FBI.  It is a shame that the President surrounded himself with these advisors, and there was a sense that thee were lines that even the President couldn't cross.  It's called taking the blame for the actions of others.  When Nixon resigned it was a move that was good for the  country.  I wonder now would our current President, if facing the same situation as Nixon, would do the same? When President Ford took the oath of office.  The impression that that left on me was profound.  A president could leave office because of a scandal and a peaceful transition could take place.  No one would ever be King in America.   This is a good thing.
Politics in America is never perfect and always surprising.  When a Georgian Governor won the seat of the Presidency in 1977,  virtually an unknown candidate, it was hoped that America could finally move past Watergate.  President Carter's image in the beginning was one of good country charm.  He was a man of faith,  moral values and an all around good guy who would shape up the White House, which had been tainted by the Republicans.  The only problem was,  Carter's vision for our country lead us to high inflation rates, high unemployment and a gas crisis.  However, the  biggest, dumbest and boneheaded act of his administration came during the Iranian Hostage Crisis.  Under President Carter's leadership,  the world saw America as weak,  arrogant and dangerously incompetent.   It took President Reagan's election to office and eight years to rebuild the damaged image of America around the world.  It was not important anymore to be liked, it was more important to be respected.
In High School, the main theme that teachers taught  me  was that our President was old, stupid and a war-monger.   What did I know?  I agreed with them because my mind was mush.  However,  why was it  that I felt safer in the 80's?   Maybe because I witnessed historic events that at one point I was told would never, ever happen.  Remember the Berlin Wall?   As a student in High School I was taught that communism won and the United States lost.  The Berlin Wall was a testament to that fact and would never be removed because of  Communism's strength.    Yet, the Berlin Wall came down,  the Cold War came to an end and there was freedom in Poland of all places.  Who would have thought this could ever happen?    I can think of  three courageous people who were the axis of greatness during the 80's who made this possible.  Ronnie, Maggie and Pope John Paul II.   An unlikely trio to be sure, but their place in history is solidified.   All three recognized the dignity of every human being and the desire of every human heart to be free.
In almost thirty years, we have come so far.  President Obama said it himself on the campaign trails, he is not like the guys on the American bills.  He made this statement with racial undertones, because he is African-American.  I agree with him, he is not like George  Washington, Abraham Lincoln or Andrew Jackson.  This has nothing to do with the color of his skin.  It has more to do with the fact that he is cut from a political idealism that is very foreign to America and her history.  Obama's political agenda is in line with socialism, marxism and communism.   In the past year, he has done more to change the face of  American than any other President in history.  He states that he is a  citizen of the World,  and that scares me on so many levels.  If he is a citizen of the world,  where does America rank with him?  If he does not believe in the exceptional gift called America,  what then does he believe in?  If America is a Muslim country,  why is it that our laws are based on the Judeo-Christian beliefs and not Sharia law? If America is racist, backwards and has committed all the evils in the world,  how is it that America gave him the opportunity to become President?
This Fourth of July,  I will remember all the brave young men and women who sacrificed their lives so that I can live in a country that is free.  There is a new battlefield now and it is close to home.  In their honor,  I  will take up the fight for freedom and push back the forces that threaten the greatness of this country.  If I reman silent,  I will have contributed to the demise of America.  I can not have that on my conscience.
