Stimulus Plan Is Working ... Really???

Well, the stimulus Plan must be working in Obamaland, but here in America there is a different view.  In Obama's weekly address, he did his usual spin on how wonderful the stimulus is working and that it is going like planned.  Americans should be patient, allowing for his plan to fully work it's way through in two years.  Goodness!  Let's hope that the unemployment benefits don't run out for those sitting at home because Obama stimulated us.   However, the liberals in congress and in Obamaland, will argue that those of us who oppose Obama's direction for our country are not giving him a chance.  For once, there is an agreement with Obama from the loyal opposition, the plan is working.  It is working the economy straight into the ground and if we do not stop this nonsense of economic stimulating, America will take a long time to recover.  That may spell doom for us but for China, this spells victory!
Let's review the facts as Obama has presented them in his address.  The President stated that the jobless numbers always lag behind in a recession.  The fact that the unemployment rate is at 9.5%, probably reaching 10% by the time summer is over is no big deal.  This is exactly what the stimulus was suppose to do.  Nice spin.   However,  was it not the President who insisted that the Stimulus package had to be  passed immediately to prevent the jobless rate to reach  8%?  The numbers as they were touted by the Obama administration were as followed: Save 1.6 million jobs, create 2.1 million new jobs at the net cost to the taxpayers $775 billion to 1.2 trillion dollars.  Well, something was went wrong in the calculations, perhaps the calculator they used was run on solar or wind energy.  Thus causing a bit of mathematical error.
What stimulates the economy the best?  Money in people's pockets.  Consumer confidence is at an all time low.  ABC News reported on June 30, 2009 that the ABC News Consumer Comfort Index stands at  -51.  This is the lowest in 23 years.  Even Sears has reported a loss in sales and in an attempt to stir up sales are looking to start the Christmas shopping season early.  As people are losing their jobs,  businesses are closing and tax hikes are on the horizons,  the average consumer is keeping their money close to home.   Can they be blamed?
If the Cap and Trade bill sails through congress, the economy will be on life support, if not dead.  As it is, many Americans are barely hanging on trying to make ends meet. If their heating and electric bills soar, there will not be extra spending money for Christmas.  Maybe a stocking full of coal would be the nicest gift to get.  At least you can try to have a bonfire outside to try to keep warm this winter.
How could the Obama Administration get it so wrong?   They didn't.  Their plan was to destroy the economy, take over the private sector and create a society that would be totally dependent on government handouts.  There can be no other explanation other than this because  the tactics that the leftists in Washington are using have never worked in any country.  It's been tried in Russia.  Failed.  Tried in Germany.  Failed.  Tried in Italy.  Failed.  If the current administration were concerned with growing the economy they would have cut taxes and encouraged businesses to grow.  Not one of Obama's plan support growth, prosperity or ingenuity.  If there is such a plan, then the President is hiding it from the rest of us.  Or perhaps, he's saving it for Obamaland, where ever that is.  This is not hope and change, it's more hype and chaos.
