I Have A Dream....

The famous words of Martin Luther King Jr.  ring hallow for many  today.  What prevents King's vision from becoming a reality are the grudges that "Civil Rights" leaders still carry.    They are stuck in the 60's without a clue as to what is going on  around them in 2009.  To use a presidential term,  they are "stupidly"  hiding behind their ideology,  using the color of their skin as a means to achieve what they want.  It is the same playbook that they have been using for over forty years.  See white person.  Blame white person for your problem.  Blame white person for the problems of ALL Blacks.  Claim injustice because you are a black person.  Go on "Poor Me I'm Black" media tour.  One thing has been added to the playbook, in the year 2009,  they get a choice of book deal, documentary or both to detail their injustice.  Sorry Dr. King, I don't think your dream will become a reality.
The case of Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr.  is so clear that it is amazing to see how this is being played in the media.  According to the Al Sharptons of the world this is an open and shut case of racial profiling. The Harvard professor is charging that Officer James Crowley is a racist because the officer had the audacity to ask for a piece of identification. Since when is asking for a piece of id a racist act? Using this same logic,  the next time a police officer pulls a woman over for an alleged traffic violation, should it be assumed that when the officer asks  for the driver's identification that he is being sexist?  Or does this rule about identification only apply to blacks?  What an insult that is to every American!   This is a demonstration of  how these civil rights activists have become elitist.  It is not enough to be be equal. The goal is to be elevated above all races as supreme.  "You don't know who you are messing with."  To be honest, Professor Gates,  I am sure that the officers and the rest of America knew exactly who they were dealing with and who you were.  A  Harvard snob who believes that the world owes him a debt that will never be paid in full to his liking.
In another surprising twist,  during a Healthcare Press conference, a reporter asked President Obama about the incident.  Adding injury to insult to the brave men and women in blue,  President Obama  claims that the Cambridge Police were wrong and acted "stupidly".  When hearing this, three questions come to mind:   First of all,  why was this question  brought up when the main theme of the evening was Obama's Healthcare debacle?  Secondly,  was  the question  inserted to try to divert audience's attention to another topic?  Finally,  Mr. President,  why would you answer a question when you don't have all the facts?  Why check facts?  Facts don't mean anything to liberals!   If they did, this case would not have gone national.   Gates only needed to be cool headed enough to understand that the police were called to investigate a possible break-in.  Why be cool headed when there is an opportunity to exploit the situation to cash in on it.  Professor Gates might want to send a thank you note to his pal Obama for adding fuel to his story.
It is sad to realize that we have come so far yet we have gotten no where.   This is the land of opportunity for everyone to excel but Civil rights liberal activists refuse to let the dream become a reality.   Dr. King, without a doubt, would be happy to see the First Black Man become president.  He would be happy to see black business leaders, doctors and lawyers working to make the American dream become a reality for themselves and their families. Wasn't that goal?     Sadly, we are stuck in racism in a way that never occurred to Dr. King or those who fought along side him.   What separates us  is not the color of skin but the color of our ideology.  That is a harder hurdler to get over.   At this point,  the dream will continue to be just that .... a dream.
