It may take awhile for the lessons and losses of this campaign season to sink into the minds of conservatives. Republicans are scratching their heads trying to figure out what went wrong and conservatives are dissecting the campaign looking for the disease that needs to be cut out of this ailing group of politicians. This is a critical point for the country as well as for both political parties. Democrats are looking for total control, alienating once and for all anyone who opposes them. Republicans are looking to find any answers that will explain why they were whipped again. One thing for certain, the Democrats and the media sure know how to build an "image." One look at the headlines on Yahoo news said it all: " Like Lincoln and FDR Obama will take reins of nation in crisis." It's enough to make a grown person cry, puke and laugh all at the same time. Obama is not a messiah, and he is not a Lincoln and he is not a an FDR. Nice try from the media to try to cover up who the President-elect is, and I will contend they will have this job for his entire presidency or until they get tired of constantly cover up for him. He is Barack Obama, author of two books proclaiming he's God's answer to America, a Community Organizer who has colorful acquaintances and a Senator who votes present most of the time. He is also the most inexperienced President in modern history. Before going further, the uniter wants to work together, but pardon if we are a little skeptical. Our arms might get bitten off once they are extended in the spirit of harmony.
One lesson that has been learned, thanks to Senator McCain, is that if the election is going to be won it should be done with passion, a backbone and never backing down. Senator McCain did none of these things. He had sparks of passion, but it was never sustainable. He had a backbone, but only found it when it was too late. Finally, he backed down. McCain would take strong conservative positions and just as soon as it gave him a boost, he backed away from them. Also, admitting that Obama was presidential material just before the election was a move that some called classy, while other called it careless. Why would anyone admit that their opponent would make a good President? This must of been the maverick move that no one would ever understand. Looking at all the elements that were missing, it will be easier to move forward. It would be wonderful if someone would answer this ad: Wanted: a man/woman with a passion to get things done. Must have a strong backbone and stand by conservative principals. Never wavering from the truth and brings the best out in his friends and foes. Someone who understands that it is not important to be liked, but more important to be respected. " Would this ad be asking too much. Would most who would seek this position think, "Gee, I can't rise up to that!" This would be a good thing because the search is on for not just one leader but several who can tackle the onslaught that is about to come from the Democrats. A P.S. should be added to this ad: "P.S., If you are a moderate maverick you need not to apply." Those Republicans in congress who think that this ideal is too high, should either find a way to reach the ideals or find their way home.
The new course of action for the Republicans is to get the message out that they are the party that promotes the American dream. This message should be repeated over and over again. Republicans in the Congress and the Senate should hammer it home that they will curb spending and work for lower taxes. These leaders should constantly challenge Obama, and the Democrats to prove that they want what is best for the average Americans. If the Republicans can do this, they will have learned their lesson. If they don't, they have lost the voters for a very long time to come and perhaps, it would be time for a new Federalist party.
